MiTintoreria is a novel written by David Morrell. It is the follow-up to his Xenon Pearl:Space Programme, another novel he has written. In this novel, the human race that has left the Milky Way due to a massive dust cloud has resurfaced, and they are seeking new worlds to colonize, terraform, and populate with their own species. The humans have sent down robots to scout out the system for any life they can find, and the first few missions go well, until something goes wrong...
You see, the first wave of colonists who landed were not fully equipped for the hostile planet they were landing on, and they quickly became lost and were unable to continue their journey. To make matters worse, as the second wave neared the end of its journey, another cargo ship crashed onto the planet killing all on board, including all of the colony's human scientists. With all of the dead bodies laying here and there, along with scattered personal effects and scattered data, the remaining population is unsure of what to do or where to go. Two mysterious space probes, each carrying one of the top researchers in the field, were left behind to study the phenomena and help devise a plan of action.
One of the top researcher's from the first colony, named Alan Stoneford, decided to translate the data from the dead settlers' bodies into a program he developed called "MiTintoreria." This free software would allow anyone to download the application right on their computer and play it for free. He believed it would revolutionize the way science is done, as more people would be able to access the information and do research on their own time and on their own devices. MiTintoreria also provides an interactive learning environment, one that is completely educational, yet fun. No download, install, or expensive hardware is needed, just your computer and you're ready to start exploring the fantastic world of MiTintoreria.
